Careers at BKY
We hire people our customers are glad to hear from.
We are always looking for talented individuals who are passionate about technology and committed to providing excellent service to our clients. Twenty-seven years in, that has not changed.
This page tells you where our openings are posted, how our review process works, and what makes an application stand out — so you are not guessing.
- One rule, before anything else
- We do not accept resumes or job inquiries by email. Only applications submitted through Indeed or LinkedIn are considered — every one of them is read by a person on our team.
Two ways in
Where our IT and software roles are posted
Our current listings live on Indeed and LinkedIn. If neither page shows a role, we do not have one open — following our LinkedIn page is the fastest way to see the next one.
Indeed
Our full company profile and every active posting. Best if you already keep a resume on Indeed and want to apply in a couple of clicks.
The same roles, plus a look at the people you would be working alongside. Follow the page and new postings show up in your feed.
Please do not email your resume. Job inquiries and resumes sent to any BKY address — including sales, support, or a team member directly — cannot be entered into our review process. Applications submitted through the links above are the only ones we can consider.
Working here
What you can expect from us
Our work sits in two places: managed IT services for organizations that need their technology to simply work, and custom software development for the ones that need something built. BKY is successful because we invest in the people doing both — here is what that means in practice, and what we expect back.
Investment in you
We back our people with training and the room to use it. The technical depth our customers rely on is built here, not hired in.
Work-life balance that holds
A team that is worn out cannot deliver the service we promise. Balance is treated as part of the job, not a perk.
Customers worth the effort
Long-tenured relationships across Alberta and beyond. You will know the people you support, and they will know you by name.
Work that gets reviewed
We continually review and adapt our processes. Good ideas about how we work are expected from everyone, not just the org chart.
Before you hit send
Crafting a successful application
We carefully review all submissions to create a shortlist for further consideration. These six things measurably improve your chances of reaching the interview stage — and they cost you nothing but a few minutes.
-
Proofread it
Make sure your resume is free of spelling and grammatical errors. In a field where detail is the job, this is the first thing we notice.
-
Put your work history in order
Present your roles in chronological order. It lets us follow your path without reconstructing a timeline.
-
Link your LinkedIn profile
Optional, but it saves us time, makes sure we are reviewing the right profile, and leaves a lasting impression.
-
Write the cover letter
A thoughtful cover letter matters. It is your chance to tell us why BKY specifically interests you — and it is read.
-
Have your references ready
Shortlisted candidates are asked for references. Lining them up in advance keeps the process moving on your side.
-
Make yourself easy to reach
Include a direct phone number and a personal email address so our team can contact you without a detour.
From the President
Why we invest in our team
Our success is based on two key ingredients: exceptional team members and amazing customers. As service providers, it’s our responsibility to ensure customers feel confident they’re receiving the best possible value and quality. This is how we create and maintain trust with our customers.
We continually review and adapt our processes to deliver exceptional service. Everyone on our team is dedicated to this goal. I am proud to work with some of the best people in the industry. BKY is successful because we invest in our team, and in return, we expect them to do the same for our customers and their teammates.
If you’re looking for an employer that values investing in you, supports training and work-life balance, and you’re committed to bringing that same level of dedication to our customers, BKY could be a great fit for your career.
Common questions
Applying to BKY
Are you hiring right now?
Not at the moment. Our live roles always appear on our Indeed and LinkedIn pages, so if neither shows a posting, we do not have one open. Following our LinkedIn page is the fastest way to hear about the next one.
Can I send my resume by email instead?
No. We do not accept resumes or job inquiries by email, and emailed applications cannot be entered into our review process. Only submissions made through our Indeed or LinkedIn postings are considered.
What happens after I apply?
Our team reads every submission for a posting and builds a shortlist for further consideration. Shortlisted candidates are contacted directly and asked for references, so it helps to have those ready in advance.
Because of the volume we receive, we are not able to respond individually to every application.
Do you offer remote or hybrid roles?
Yes. The arrangement varies by role, so each posting states what applies to it — check the listing you are applying for.
Do you take students, co-op, or practicum placements?
Not at the moment — and we would rather tell you that plainly than take someone on and do it badly.
A placement is only worth doing if someone on the team has the time to mentor properly: to answer questions, review work, and send a student away with something real to show. We do not have that capacity right now, and a placement without it wastes a student’s term.
This is something we would like to offer, so it may change. Worth checking back.

No openings today does not mean none next month. Both pages stay current, and a strong application is remembered.
